Welcome everyone to UnderMine’s 4th major update, the Supply Crate Update. As you have already guessed, it is time to finally add loot boxes to UnderMine. Nah, just kidding. We couldn’t come up with a strong theme for this one since it has a little bit of everything. We’ll do better next time, we promise. Since the first post we always receive after posting these updates is the date I put it in big, bold, yellow letters right below this. Let’s be real though, we’ll still get asked. Alright, on with the update!
UnderMine 0.5.0 Supply Crate Update will drop this Friday, February 7th, 2020.
Female Peasant
By far the biggest part of this update is the addition of the female peasant, or as we like to call her peasF. We have been asked many times by girls, women, and men alike if we thought about adding a female protagonist. The answer was always that we were considering it, knowing that it would be a lot of work for what is exclusively an aesthetic change. But that change is very important to a lot of people. We didn’t want to disappoint anyone and say “sorry it’s dudes only.” Anyways, it isn’t dudes only anymore. PeasF is here and she comes in all the same varieties that peasM does.
Not only does she come in all different shades and colors, she has all new SFX, new names, death text, and occasionally NPCs will give alternate dialog if you’re currently a female peasant. We hope you find her as adorable and badass as we do. And if you find yourself wishing you could lock in certain palette options, well there might be more customization in the future.
New Dialog and Story
New dialog has been added to many of the game’s major characters, as well as some side characters.

NEW ITems
We thought we were taking it easy this patch, and it felt kind of like we had let our foot of the gas a bit, but then we looked back… and well… we created 61 new items. To put that into context, we shipped 36 new items in the Cursed Update. To be honest, pretty disappointed in our past selves. Shape up guys.
These 61 new items span Relics, Potions, Curses, and there is a new Blessing tossed in there to round things out. Here is a small sampling to whet your appetites. Not going to lie, these are some of the tamer ones, but they’re the ones whose icons are finished. You’ll have to check out the update for the real wild stuff.
Also, some of these items were suggested by the community. So if you want to worm your ideas into our brains, make sure to join the Discord.

NEW BOSS MUSIC TRACKS
Our music composer Wesley Slover over at Sono Sanctus has created four custom boss tracks. Each track reflects the personality of the boss and the zone they belong to. They also feature some shreddin’ guitar because Wes loves that stuff.
A mysterious new altar
Reports from the Undermine indicate that there is a mysterious new altar that accepts a relic. It is unclear what the altar does to that relic, or how to find it again.
If you figure it out, let us know.
And of course, in addition to this new content, there is a suite of bug fixes and balance changes. The full patch notes will be released alongside the update on February 7th. This update was a bit later than we wanted. Some of it had to do with being a bit worn thin and the holidays interrupted things a bit as well. We anticipate the next update to drop in a much more familiar time-frame.
That being said, we are really proud of all of the work here, and honestly we are a bit shocked at how many new items we created. Our pipeline for those is pretty dialed in at this point. So, we’ll just have to push harder and make some more bombastic relics with wackier effects, to slow things down again.
Thank you so much for your continued support of UnderMine and we hope you enjoy the Supply Crate Update.
